Little Monkey Boss:8yr old, sorrel, gelding, 15 hands. By Tremendous Machine out of a Pie In The Sky mare. Has won at Futurities, open rodeos and large jackpots. Monkey has run in the 1D for the last 2 years except for a hand full of times. He is the real deal. Easy to ride and nice to be around. Monkey has a style of running that will never hit a barrel. He really gets down in his turns and drives out of a barrel. Lots of speed. More personality than 10 horses combined. Lots of try and style. I love this horse. I have only hit 2 barrels on this horse in the past 2yrs. and they were both my fault. It has been a joy owning this horse. OWNED BY 3DRUM

As of Jan 3rd 2008 Monkey is enjoying his rest. I plan to start riding him again around Feb. but that could change depending on our rodeo schedule. I have yet to pick up a Pro Rodeo News so I can see what's going on. It seems like Monkey gains 10 pounds a day. His belly could pop at any time. With plenty of grass and a huge round bale in front of him he never stops eating. Keep checking back for news and updates on Monkey and our "RODEO TIMES UPDATES."

I decided to run Monkey at a benefit rodeo in Sand Spring. It was a beautiful arena but the ground was deep if you were at the bottom of the drag. As luck would have it I was last out and they ran 10 girls. It was like running through quick sand. Monkey made the best of it and worked his butt off. He did sink a little at the third and trip but still ended up winning by .4 tenths of a second. He is a super horse to say the least. We won a very nice buckle and I could not be happier with my horse.
11/3/07 Winning the Sand Spring rodeo by .4 tenths.
10/18/07 4th at the Mustang jackpot.
We just keep adding to his resume:::::::::::::::
McKenzie Weirtzema and Little Monkey Boss are WPRA Reserve Youth World Champions!
Just back from Alvarado where Monkey and his young rider McKenzie put on a great show. Mckenzie's mother Tonya called me about a month ago asking if they could use Monkey for the WPRA Youth finals in Alvarado. Finally I agreed and we decided that Mckenzie and Tonya should fly in at least a day early so McKenzie and Monkey could make a practice run. As chance would have it the Oklahoma rain set it and luckily we found a jackpot to hit. Making a great first run they were 3rd in the 1D with a 16.3 winning and McKenzie running a 16.4. They took a wide pocket into the first but made the best of it. The WPRA open and Youth finals were run on a regulation, standard pattern. Although there were not many Youth competitors they did prove to be able to hold there own with the big girls. McKenzie and Monkey ran a 17.12 in the first go round to win second. Only 6 competitors ran faster times that this pair and that includes the pro girls. They made a really nice run even though poor Mckenzie lost a stirrup. In the second go round they ran a 17.26 placing 2nd and ending up 2nd in the average. Mckenzie did an awesome job jumping on Monkey and showing him to his potential.

Well we have just arrived back from our 10 days on the road. Monkey is handling everything like a champ. Getting a check at our very first pro rodeo was beyond exciting. Outrunning the best of the best including several girls in the top 15 and several former NFR qualifiers. We started out by placing 10th at the Rosenberg, TX pro rodeo, then moved on to Pasadena where we placed 11th. At Waco we ran just out of the money in the first go and caught a barrel in the second go. If we would have made a clean run I would have made the short go in 8th place.
Waco: At this rodeo they take the top 12 girls back for a short go. I would have been 8th had I not hit a barrel. Oh, well there is always another rodeo.
Waco 2nd go: We placed around 15th didn't count because we packed up to leave.
Waco Pro-rodeo: 1st go 15th Got a little by the first barrel.
Pasadena Pro-rodeo: 11th
Rosenberg Pro-rodeo: 10 place.
We certainly can't complain about our week but it could have been better. We started off by barely catching a barrel to win second at the Sulfer open rodeo. It was Monkey first run back since his break. Some pretty tough horses showed up but Monkey held his own. We then headed off to the Jud Little Barrel Bash in Ardmore. Friday night I had an average run and ended up winning the 2D, which was okay with me. I rode like a chicken. Saturday I decided to send my horses from the back of the ally (which I never do) and let him roll. I was going for first place and nothing else. Monkey rolled into the first and turned it in a blink, he ran to the second with his tremendous speed and just as he set to turn he over reached, trip and about fell on his head, putting us by the barrel. He got up regrouped and flew to the 3rd inhaling it in what seemed like no time at all. We ended up running a 15.4 and a 15.1 won the race. I was devastated when I left the arena, but I guess it comes with the territory. We are getting ready for our Pro-Rodeo road trip and debut next week. Wish us luck.
9/29Barrel
Bash:
Monk Ardmore
All I can say is "Shoot." He was making a run and over-reached. Still
running less than .3 tenths off with over 400 of the toughest entries anywhere.
What a horse, he is truly amazing. A 15.1 won the race and we ran a 15.4!!!
9/28 Barrel Bash: Not our best run but Monkey wins the 2D against 400+ entries.
9/23 Sulfer: Monkey ran the 2nd fastest time but we caught a barrel. Not bad for having a month off.
Monkey has been running solid all year. Out running the top ranked horses in the country along with former World Champions of the WRPA. We are getting ready to enter Waco, Rosenburg, and Pasadena pro rodeos.
We have made it home and Monkey has had about 3 weeks of rest. Getting ready for the Barrel bash in Ardmore, and lining out the pro-rodeos we plan to hit. Monkey is looking and feeling good. Just a little legging up and maybe a warm up jackpot before we hit Ardmore. Monkey seems to be getting stronger and better with every run.
We are getting ready to pack up and head home. We hit the last rodeo Monday night and I guess you could say we went out with a bang. Monkey has won the last 4 rodeos we have been to. We ended up winning Pond Hill and Chatham. The Painted Pony rodeo company gave away beautiful leather jackets to all the winners. What a nice incentive that was. We came to season Monkey to the performances and we did just that. He has seen it all. We have been to big, small, smaller, hard, deep, tracks, and fairs all in the last month. Monkey has shown to be the true winner I knew he was. Never failing to give me 110% at every rodeo no matter the conditions. Last night at Chatham we ran with some sort of ride sitting off the second barrel and the Farris Wheel sitting at a distance to the 3rd barrel, along with the ground being dirt at the first and third and stone dust at the second. I was more than proud when he ran in there and inhaled 3 barrels in perfect style. I think we are ready to hit the road and feel very confident in my horse. Everyone that meets Monkey falls in love with him. About 5 minutes before our run at Pond Hill there was a crowd of people gathered around to pet Monkey since he is so quiet. He just stood there and let all the little kids pet him. He just adores the attention. I have people come up to me all the time asking if that's the little sorrel horse that flys across the pen at all the rodeos. Monkey certainly doesn't hold anything back when he runs. I tell people: "He runs like his tail is on fire!!!!" Monkey will have about 2 weeks off and just rest in a large, grass filled pasture.

Winning 1st. IPRA Castleton rode
We have 2 more rodeos to hit and then we head home. We have started the week off on a good note. Monkey won the rodeo at Painted Pony making a smokin run and running the fastest time of the entire year. Not bad considering it was probably the smallest pen he has ever run in. I think we are both ready for a rest. Monkey will get some rest when we get home. I'm sure he can't wait to hit the pasture filled with grass. Our next run will be the Barrel Bash in Ardmore. After that we will play it by ear. I think 2008 will be the year we hit the road pretty hard. I would love to run at some of the bigger pro-rodeos and just have fun.
NEW 8/29: 1st at the Painted Pony IPRA rodeo.
Another easy week for Monkey. We went to two rodeos and were getting ready to head home. I'm sure he is looking forward to some much needed rest. He is still running strong and we're taking home checks. Pond Hill was pretty muddy and Monkey is still getting used to the mud puddles. Don't think he cared for the one at the 3rd barrel. I can't complain, he gives 110% every run.

Double M
Winning the rodeo by 1/2 second.
NEW8/25 2nd at the Pond Hill IPRA rodeo.
This week we took a break and decided to only run Saturday at the race for a cause and at the rodeo which would be held later that night. It proved to be both a good and devastating day. At no fault of my horse we won the run for a cause held during the day and with a slight trip caught the second barrel during the rodeo. We coasted out of the pen to run .3 tenths faster than any other competitor. Talk about consistency we ran the exact same time during the day as we did at the rodeo. Monkey is seasoning out well and I could not be more proud of his actions this month. Check out his videos below.
