Gonelikeyesterday
3yr old filly.
Gone Like Yesterday:
3yr old,
sorrel, filly, By Tremendous Machine who is Bold Episode out of a Chicado Pas
mare. This is Monkeys little sister and we have high hopes for her. Sister is
stout and built nice. Here Dam has produced nice futurity horses in the past and
we already know what her sire can do. Beautiful filly that is beginning to roan
out over her entire body. Currently in training with 3Drum. Riding like a future
champ should be. Lopes around level headed with a lot of agility and catty
ability. Started on barrels.
2/20 Took Sister to the round up club to ride while Kevin roped a few steers. He asked me to help him gather the cows and as soon as sister saw them she took off after them. I thought she was going to run the babies right over. After I pulled her up she did well. I trotted and loped a few patterns on her. She did awesome considering she had never been there before. The ground was a tad hard but she used her rear and got into the ground. I am very pelased with her progress with the little amount of time she has had on barrels.
2/21: Just rode Sister today. A light workout.
2/22: Took Sister to a friends house to ride while the boys roped. There was so much to look at. Tractors, buildings etc. She really didn't care. I ride her some, let her sit and watch the guys roping, and stood her in the box a few times.
2/23 Sister got the day off
2/24: Took Sister to the Mustang Arena to ride around. The banners did not scare her one bit. She rode around like a seasoned pro. You would never know she was a 3yr old. No barrels today.
2/25: Had a new coggins pulled in Sister
Rode sister around the house. Worked on setting her head and rating her speed. Took her out back to look at the cows/bulls. At first she didn't know what to make of them but she eventually walked right up to the pen
2/26: Rode Sister at my house today. We did lots of circles and trotting today. Reinforcing sisters head set. She wanted to get her head up a bit on the back side of the barrels so I did some exercises to work with her. After 5 minutes she was listening and worked great. She just needs some basic slow work to remind her what she needs to be doing every now and then. All in all she is doing great.
2/27: Rode Sister at my parents house. I took her tie down and bonnet off completely. I am just riding her in a weighted O-ring and teaching her to set her head whenever she feels pressure. She is a quick learner and is doing well. I trotted 4 or 5 patterns and had her lope one. She kept her head, low and stayed honest in her pockets. I am bringing her along nice and slow.
2/28: Wormed Sister today after we came home from the trail ride.
Took Sister to the lake for a trail ride. The only thing that caught her eye were the culvert pipes and by the end of the trail ride she was over it. We rode for about 3-4 miles, walked and trotted a lot. Did some loping along the road. Sister was adding a little speed. I was very pleased with the way she acted being in a totally new environment.
